Imaging Department

 Lead Ultrasound Superintendent

Our fully digital department is referred to by local and national media as ‘one of the most innovative departments in the country’.  The Hospital site has 2 MRI scanners, 2 CT scanners, 7 digital x-ray rooms, a Gama camera (shortly to be upgraded to SPECT CT), DXA scanner, fluoroscopy and interventional fluoroscopy suite sited in theatre as well as several US rooms. Over 194,000 exams will be performed this year.

We will be upgrading most of our equipment (under a Managed Equipment Service) beginning March 2018 so sonographers will be working with up to date equipment at all times.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking sonographer lead to join our professional and friendly team and we welcome applicants from experienced sonographers looking for the next step as well as experienced lead sonographers.

Recent changes in management have led to an exciting time to be part of this innovative team where advanced practice and extended scope for sonographers is fast becoming reality.

Any appointee will be expected to contribute to idea generation and the promotion of collaborative working across professional groups and inter-departmentally.

The successful applicant will be participating in ob/gyn and general US with the opportunity to use their specialist skills if trained. There will also be allocated administrative time for management of the team and deputy lead sonographer.
