Post: Therapy Technician (Acute Elderly and Neuro Rehabilitation) – Band 4
Work Base: Whittington Hospital
Hours: 37.5 (including weekend working on a rota system)
We are seeking to appoint a Therapy Technician with drive and initiative to support the work of our integrated therapy teams at the Whittington Hospital. The post holder will work alongside qualified Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to restore functional ability in patients during their acute hospital stay. The focus for the role will be to provide concentrated therapy to the acute elderly care wards and across the hospital to patients admitted with traumatic and acquired neurological conditions. There will also be a key role in the discharge planning process particularly for patients with onward referral to rehabilitation centres. The role is diverse and requires the successful candidates to demonstrate flexibility and resourcefulness in order to carry out the role to its full potential.
We are looking for someone who is able to communicate clearly in a variety of situations and settings, with good IT, administrative and organizational skills. Previous experience of working in a rehabilitation role as a therapy assistant or close equivalent is advantageous.
Our friendly department of 40+ staff is committed to developing the knowledge and skills of all staff with training, supervision and appraisal given to the successful candidates to ensure they develop their skills in this work setting.
