Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist – Camden Early Years' Service and Down's Syndrome Service
Camden Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service provides a multi-agency team approach to working with babies, children and young people who present with a range of speech, language and communication needs. We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and highly motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join this service, who is able to work sensitively with children and who is committed to family-centred practice.
This is a 9 month Fixed Term post to cover maternity leave in the service. The post holder will be based across two different teams: The Camden Early Years' Service, for three days per week, and the Pre- School Special Needs Service for one day per week. Work in the Early Years' Service will involve the management with young children with speech, language and social communication needs in local health centres and the Special Needs Service will involve work with pre-school children with Down's Syndrome.
The Downs Syndrome Pathway (DSP) pre-school team is located in Kentish Town and the post holder will be a link person to coordinate and deliver speech and language services for children within this service. The DSP is part of Camden MOSAIC, an integrated service for children with disabilities and their families. In both roles the post-holder will work with a range of professional including Health Visitors, Therapy Assistants, Family Workers, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Paediatricians.
There will be opportunities to deliver training packages and to supervise less experienced staff and to be involved in Quality Improvement projects across the teams.
