We are excited to be advertising this joint post - 0.8wte 4 days across 2 well established SLTs teams with a shared SLT clinical manager.  Each team has excellent management, supervision and development opportunities. This post will suit someone who is experienced or someone who is looking to develop their skills in the areas of adult mental health and adult learning disabilities or someone who wants to develop into a band 6 SLT

The Adult Mental Health post is based in Goodinge Health Centre N7 with 2 other SLTs working with adults with mental health needs in Camden and Islington. There will be opportunities to work in hospital and community settings as well as supporting the band 7 SLT to run groups for people with Asperger’s. For applicants who are interested in Mental Health but have limited experience, training and shadowing experiences will be offered. Some experience in dysphagia is essential but further support and/or training can be offered.

The Adult Learning Disabilities post is based  in Kings Cross in Camden Learning Disabilities Service , an integrated health and social care learning disabilities service with 6 other SLTs and an assistant SLT plus a wide range of other professionals. Work covers both communication and dysphagia. Some experience in dysphagia is essential but further support and/or training can be offered. 

There maybe the possibility of extra sessions.

You will join a strong professional group in Whittington Health of approximately 150 SLTs with a professional lead and an annual Professional Day. There are opportunities to develop links in the Trust across a range of specialities. Travelling between the bases and community settings is straightforward as there are direct bus, train and tube links plus walking and cycle routes.  

You will be well supported to develop your skills, and you will have a thorough induction and regular monthly supervision. You are warmly welcomed to telephone for further information and to request a visit prior to interview.
