Camden Speech and language Therapy service is currently looking for a dynamic and highly motivated senior speech and language therapist to join this service, who is able to work with children across the age range, and committed to family centred practice.

The post is a multi-disciplinary clinical co-ordinator and specialist speech and language therapist for children and young people with complex needs. The post is 1 year fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

The service operates in multidisciplinary and multi-agency settings and is based at Swiss Cottage School in Camden.

The service is provided to babies, children and young people who present with dysphagia and a wide range of communication difficulties associated with complex medical problems. The service may be delivered in the community or in special schools /resource bases.

The post holder will coordinate and lead the multidisciplinary health team at Swiss Cottage School, and the Speech & Language Therapy team working within the multi-agency environment of Camden Children’s Complex Needs Service with speech & language therapists, specialist teachers, psychologists, paediatricians, occupational and physiotherapists, specialist nurses and other professionals. This specialist service is for clients with complex needs aged 0-19 years of age.

All the clients have long-term needs that are complex. This post holder will take a significant role in establishing the diagnosis, likely prognosis, recommendations for dysphagia and communication strategies and evaluation of the therapeutic input.

The post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating the speech and language therapy service for the team, and the health team at Swiss Cottage School.
