Post: Band 6 Occupational Therapist- Rotational
Profession: Occupational Therapist.
Base: Whittington Hospital (1 community rotation based locally)
Hours: 37.5 (including extended hours and weekend working on a rota system)
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration to join our acute and community rotation at the Whittington Hospital. Previous experience of working in the acute setting is desirable for this post. As this is a senior therapy position, prior experience in and a working knowledge of the UK healthcare system is essential to meet the person specification criteria for the post.
The successful candidate will need to be able to work in a fast paced environment, have excellent communication skills and be knowledgeable about discharge planning and relevant legislation.
The rotations available are:
Acute General Medicine
START Team – Rapid assessment and Early Discharge
Our teams are led by Band 8’s and each rotational area has a Band 7 specialising in the work areas listed above. We strive to provide a friendly and supportive working environment and offer access to in house training opportunities, and external training as part of your development linked to your appraisal
The post provides, an excellent opportunity, to consolidate skills learnt at Band 5 level and develop as a senior practitioner in this setting. There will be opportunity to supervise band 5 staff, Therapy Technicians, Therapy Assistants and OT students on placement. The Band 6 group have dedicated time for personal and professional development and peer support as a commitment to their continuing professional development.
