Full time, permanent post, 37.5 hours per week over 7 days on a rota

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our hospital based hearing screening team and be fully trained as a Newborn Hearing Screener.

You will need to be able to work unsupervised, be confident in dealing with new parents and newborn babies. You will need to be able to work in any one of our hospitals (Whittington, Royal Free and the UCLH) as well as occasionally working in outpatients clinics or in the parents' home. You will need to be available to work occasional weekends on a rota.

You must be computer confident and be keen to learn something new. Excellent communication skills and team working are essential for this post.

If you are not already qualified as a Newborn Hearing Screener then you will be offered training.

On successful completion of your hearing screening training you will be required to go on to undertake the Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners qualification which may take up to 18 months to complete.

Please be aware that the Level 3 Diploma in Screening is very computer focused and you will be expected to undertake computer based course work in addition to undertaking self-directed study and complete ongoing assessments.
