Are you a midwife seeking a rewarding and challenging role within a rapidly developing diabetes service? An opportunity has arisen within the Diabetes Specialist Midwife Team for an enthusiastic and motivated midwife who is committed to providing a high standard of specialised diabetes and midwifery care for women and babies.

The role will involve working within the Diabetes Specialist Midwife Team and deliver specialist diabetes care in the ANC. Additionally, the successful midwife will provide maternity in-patient diabetes support for antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care. The role will include being actively involved in planning and arranging diabetes education updates for midwives and junior doctors, participating in local and national clinical audit, developing diabetes care pathways and evidenced based guidelines.

This is a part time post requiring a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a practising midwife. You must also be experienced in delivering specialist diabetes midwifery care to women with pre-existing and gestational diabetes within a multi-disciplinary team.A recognised diabetes or diabetes in pregnancy qualification is desirable.
