Locality Administrative Supervisor for health visiting
Universal Children’s Services – Health Visiting
Band 4 (Agenda for Change)
We are seeking to appoint an individual with all round experience in administration and supervision (mentoring capacity not line management). Your role will be to implement and review administrative systems to assist the health visiting teams - front line staff in the community - to achieve their clinical and administrative outcomes. You will be expected to work closely with the team’s Health Care Assistants, including Child Health Clinics, and assisting the Locality Manager in the delivery of an efficient, effective and a high quality service.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent, organisational, time management and supervisory skills and be able to prioritise own workload. You will be expected to work without direct supervision. It is essential you have: excellent communication skills which include liaising with a wide range of people and services; an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office including working on databases using EXCEL for producing performance data reports for the teams; office management skills with experience of having worked in a busy team and be able to exercise initiative to prevent and resolve problems. Previous experience of administration and supervision of staff is, therefore, essential.
You will also be committed to staff development being able to identify own learning needs. You will be expected to travel between different health centres within the Locality and the Boroughs. The successful candidate will need to be suitably skilled with experience, approachable, flexible, have good interpersonal skills and be a good team player.
Appointment to this post is subject to enhanced children DBS.
This post involves travelling in the community either on foot or by public transport and requires contact with clients including babies and children under 5. You will be required to adhere to an appropriate professional dress code.
