Applications are invited for the post of whole-time Consultant in Haematology at Whittington Health NHS Trust and University College London Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. (This is a replacement joint post between the two hospitals to provide more consultant sessions mainly for the Red Cell Services at both hospitals as well as general haematology at Whittington health. The successful candidate will become part of the haemoglobinopathy network across the two health care providers.
The person appointed will have a comprehensive training and will be capable of handling the range of medical problems that occur within the setting of a district general hospital (DGH) as well as extensive experience in red cell disorders. There are existing cancer and haemoglobinopathy networks which the successful applicant will join. The appointee will be expected to help maintain the haematology departments’ reputations as centres of excellence in service delivery, teaching, research and training.
Applicants must have the FRCPath (or equivalent specialist qualification) and hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT, or equivalent, by date of interview.
Applicants must also be on the full and Specialist Register of the General Medical Council with a Licence to Practice, (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview).
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
