This is an exciting opportunity to jointly lead the recently established Islington CAMHS Intake team. The team sits within the borough's new multi-agency central point of access (CPA) for social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) support, with the Islington Children's Services Contact Team.

The Borough

Islington is a wonderfully diverse borough. Despite its relatively small size it is densely populated with a total resident child population of 40,000, which is about 20% of the total population. The borough is a diverse community with extremes of affluence and poverty. There is a broad cultural mix from a range of ethnic minority groups.

 Islington Community CAMHS

An energetic, creative, hardworking multidisciplinary team of 90+ staff working with parents and their children from 0-18 years of age in community settings including Children’s Centres, Primary and Secondary Schools and Health Centres. We use a stepped care model of service delivery linked to the Thrive framework and are a part of the Children and Young People’s IAPT initiative as well as a CWP site, and a Wave 2 MHST site. Every school and Children’s Centre in Islington has a CAMHS clinician attending weekly or fortnightly. We have close links with the Anna Freud Centre for Children and Families’ mental health in schools initiatives. We work closely with multi-agency partners in the borough.
