Islington is a small densely populated borough with a total resident child population of 40,000. The proportion of children from BME groups is 70%. Approximately 120 different languages are spoken in the homes of Islington children. Islington has one of the highest proportions of children living in poverty nationally; it is ranked the eighth most deprived local authority in England.
Islington Community CAMHS is therefore dedicated to working with partner agencies at a strategic level and in practice to address the resulting mental health needs of the borough.
ICAMHS is an IAPT site and winner of a Guardian Public Sector Award for mental health.
Islington Community CAMHS is recruiting a 1.0 (10 sessions) whole time equivalent Band 7 clinician who may be a Clinical psychologist, Speech and language therapist or Occupational Therapist, to work with the Neurodevelopmental Team (NDT)
We are looking for a highly innovative and experienced practitioner to work full/part time in the CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Team (NDT) in Islington. The post holders will have specialist experience working with children and young people with Autism spectrum and related/overlapping conditions, and supporting their families.We are currently working with an initiative to reduce the current waiting list and to maintain a much shorter (18 week) wait.
The NDT a friendly, supportive and holistic team integrated into a large CAMHS and with professionals from a wide range of mental health and child health disciplines. It is a team with a good reputation for co-working, innovation and multi-disciplinary working.
We are therefore looking for a hard working, committed, enthusiastic, collaborative and energetic clinician to join Islington CAMHS. The applicant should be able to work with their multi agency and multi-disciplinary colleagues in a flexible and organised way. We are looking for a clinician who can start as soon as possible.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
