Developing Specialism in speech across the Early Years and the Mainstream Schools services

Full time 37.5 Hours per week

The Early Years and Mainstream Schools SLT Teams in Haringey are looking for a highly skilled and innovative speech and language therapist with experience in working with children and young people with speech disorders and an interest in developing a specialism in this area.  The post holder should also have a real enthusiasm for working in clinics and Mainstream schools.

The post is split between the Early years clinic based service - 22.5hrs per week and mainstream schools service at 15hrs per week

You will be based for part of the week in our community clinics, managing a caseload of predominantly pre-school children in addition to an identified caseload of children with speech disorders, working closely with the Highly Specialist SLT in speech disorders. You will also work in the Speech, Language and Communication Service, our jointly funded and run Service for children in mainstream primary and secondary schools in Haringey. Our large, friendly teams comprise of newly qualified and experienced therapists who all share a commitment to work closely with families and schools in Haringey to provide an excellent service for children with speech, language and communication disorders whether they attend clinic or schools in Haringey. 

In mainstream schools, the post holder will be responsible for organising and managing their own caseloads which will include children with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs including DLD and children with complex needs.

Haringey have specialist SLTs working in a wide range of areas including children with emotional and behavioural difficulties; speech, fluency, selective mutism and DLD. You have your own clinical supervisor who will also complete your appraisals and Personal Development Plans with you on an annual basis.
