Consultant Dermatologist (8 PA) Substantive
We are looking for a dynamic and forward thinking consultant to join the Dermatology team. We are looking for colleagues with particular special interests that would complement our department in particular with an interest in biological therapies for psoriasis and eczema. In addition to this, paediatric dermatology is another area we wish to expand.
You will be joining us at an exciting and innovative time as we develop our services. You will join 5 other consultants who form a motivated and cohesive group of dermatologists.
The department of dermatology at the Whittington provides services to patients from Islington and Haringey CCGs as well as other clinical commissioning groups from the surrounding areas. It has its own dedicated phototherapy and photodynamic therapy suite and two equipped outpatient theatres. It provides general and community dermatology services as well as a number of specialist clinics in paediatric dermatology, vulval disorders jointly with gynaecology and immunobullous diseases. The weekly paediatric dermatology service takes place in a dedicated paediatric outpatient department and is supported by paediatric medical and nursing staff. The department also provides a One Stop Skin Cancer screening service with a busy surgical dermatology unit.
We are looking to establish a dedicated biologics clinic for psoriasis and we wish to recruit a dermatologist who is keen to develop this service as well as support other areas. The job will also involve skin cancer screening, skin surgery, general dermatology as well as paediatric dermatology and teledermatology. There will also be opportunities to be involved in clinical research and teaching.
The successful applicants will also be involved in providing clinical teaching and support to our registrars, senior house officer as well as undergraduate students from UCL medical school.
Applicants should be on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT/CESR at the time of the interview.
So, if you think you meet the requirements and you thrive in an environment that is challenging and evolving there has never been a better time to join us.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
