Specialty Doctor in Anaesthetics
Applications are invited for a Specialty Doctor Post in Anaesthesia within Whittington Health. These posts are required to contribute to the delivery of high quality care for patients both during the day and out of hours.
This post is for 6 months in the first instance.
The post will include senior-supervised theatre sessions, providing anaesthetic support to the Labour Suite, attendance on acute pain ward rounds, and the care of critically ill patients throughout the hospital. It would be essential for you to have your basic anaesthetic competencies, but obstetric competencies, whilst desirable, are not essential.
Whittington Health is a main University Hospital of the combined UCL/Royal Free School of Medicine. We are located at Archway, North London, close to both Highgate Village and Islington. The hospital serves a mixed socio-economic community and culturally diverse population of some 250,000.
The successful candidates must be registered with the GMC with a license to practice.
You will be appointed as a speciality doctor in anaesthetics and be paid 10 + 2 programmed activities (12 PA’s). You will receive 1.5 PA’s per week for supporting professional activities and receive 10 days of study leave per annum.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
